EXTRA ORDINARY ANGLES PHOTO CONTEST

To celebrate the launch of the newest D5100 camera, Nikon Asia has launched an Extra Ordinary Angles Photo Contest running from May 12th to June 15th. Join the competition for a chance to win the brand new D5100! One set of Nikon Capture NX2 software will also be up for grabs from the Top photos every week!

Competition Rules & Theme
How It Works?

Simply log in using the Facebook Connect button in the Competition page, then either select a photo from your Facebook photo albums or Upload a new photo. Once uploaded, and approved by the board of judges the photo will appear on the D5100 site where you can vote on and share the photo with your friends.

Winners

Photo-of-the-Week (May 12 to Jun 15)

Each week one photo will be chosen as the Photo-of-the-Week based equally on Nikon Judges selection and the amount of votes that it receives. The winning Photo-of-the-Week will then be displayed on the Microsite and on Nikon Asia’s Facebook Page “Discover Nikon”. The selected winner will win a free set of Nikon’s Capture NX 2 Software. At the end of the 5th week, the best photo out of the five Photo-of-the-Week winners will receive a brand new D5100 Camera!

Theme

The theme of the contest, like the title, is Extra Ordinary Angles. Show us everyday, regular things from unique angles. Instead of setting the theme too tightly, you are free to interpret the contest any way you like. Show us what Extra Ordinary Angles mean to you.

Submission Process

You are able to submit photos into the competition using 2 methods - Uploading from your computer or from your Facebook Photo Albums.

Uploading from Computer

  1. Log in using the Facebook Connect button on Competition page.
  2. Click on Submit Photo
  3. Click on Choose File and browse through your computer to choose the desired photo.
  4. Click Upload.

Uploading from Facebook

  1. Log in using the Facebook Connect button on Competition page.
  2. Click on Submit Photo
  3. Click on From Facebook Photo Album
  4. Select the Album
  5. Select the Photo and Confirm.

Approval of Submission

After above submission process, you will receive an email to confirm your submission. By then your photo is not yet shown on the contest site. After reviewed by Nikon’s panel, your photo will be either approved or rejected. You will receive a second email to confirm approval or rejection of your submission within 24 hours. Upon approval, the photo will be available on the site for you to vote and to share with your friends. Please note that the approval process can take up to 24 hours. In the event that your photo is not approved by the Judges you will also receive an email notifying you of the rejection.

Eligibility & Rules

  1. You will require a Facebook account to enter the contest.
  2. Maximum 5 entries per day per user.
  3. Maximum 5 MB file size limit. (Recommend to submit the photo in 800x600 pixel size)
  4. Voting requires user to log in their Facebook account.
  5. Only 1 vote per photo is allowed per user
  6. Photo-of-the-Week until end of Week 3 (May 26 – Jun 1, 2011) will be selected solely by Judges
  7. Photo-of-the-Week from Week 4 will be selected in an equal basis on Number of votes and Judges Selection.
  8. All submissions from May 12 to Jun 22, 2011 will be eligible for the D5100 Contest Special Prize.
  9. 50 photo submissions will be awarded, and judging is based solely on Judges’ Pick. 1 prize will be given to 1 distinct selected winner whose photo is picked.
  10. Photo submissions with different Facebook accounts by the same person will only considered for 1 and only 1 distinction.
  11. Individuals awarded with the prize will be announced on http://d5100.nikon-asia.com/competition. Winners are required to provide their passport, ID or verification particulars for the prize collection; else they will forfeit the prize. Prizes will need to be collected from the respective Nikon offices, within 30 days from date of announcement.
  12. The winners will be contacted by email. Please ensure that your email address connected to Facebook is valid and in-use.
  13. The contest is only available for people residing in the following countries: Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, India, Thailand and New Zealand.
